Mohammed Kabir is an educator, humanitarian worker dedicated to advancing education and social cohesion among displaced communities. Born in 1997 in Pa Da Kar Ywa Thit village, Northern Maungdaw, Rakhine State, Myanmar, Kabir grew up in a middle-class farming family. His father, a hardworking farmer, made extraordinary sacrifices to ensure Kabir could pursue his education, while his brother—who has lived as a refugee in Malaysia since 2006—provided financial support throughout his academic journey. Despite systemic discrimination against Rohingya students in Myanmar, Kabir remained determined to continue his studies.
After graduating from secondary school in 2016, he aspired to pursue a B.A. in Philosophy. However, due to restrictions imposed on Rohingya students, he was denied access to higher education. He began his professional career as a Science teacher at a government middle school in his village from 2016 to 2017. In August 2017, escalating violence in Rakhine State forced him to flee to Bangladesh, interrupting his formal education but not his commitment to learning and service.
In Bangladesh, Kabir resumed teaching while rebuilding his academic path. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of the People and received a scholarship from UNHCR to pursue further online studies. He also completed a Diploma in Public Administration, strengthening his leadership and administrative skills.
Kabir has worked in NGO Learning Centers and served for six years as a Master Trainer, training numerous teachers and contributing significantly to improving the quality of education within refugee communities. Since 2025, he has been working as a Cultural Mediator at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), where he supports communication, cultural understanding, and coordination within humanitarian operations.
Driven by his passion for sustainable education reform, Kabir co-founded Life Guide Academy Private High School in 2021. As a co-founder, he played a central role in shaping the school’s vision, development, and implementation. The institution was established to provide structured and quality secondary education for refugee students who lacked access to formal learning opportunities.
Recognized for his leadership and dedication, Kabir was elected Principal of Life Guide Academy Private High School by his fellow team members. Under his guidance, the school has become a symbol of hope, resilience, and community-driven educational empowerment within the refugee camp. He continues to serve Life Guide Academy Private High School with a guiding vision building futures with commitment and integrity working tirelessly to ensure that displaced students receive quality education and meaningful opportunities for a brighter tomorrow.
